Slack action

The Slack action can send a message to a Slack channel or direct-message a person identified by email. It uses an organization Slack OAuth connection and can use a supplied channel, a configured default channel, or the recipient information needed for a direct message. The Slack bot must be able to post in the destination channel, and a disconnected or expired connection prevents a successful execution.

Slack is a supported runtime action, but it is not currently shown as a standard card on the agent Actions page and has no corresponding configuration form there. Do not instruct teammates to enable a Slack card that they cannot see. Set up and maintain the organization connection through the relevant integration or channel workflow, then validate the behavior in the channel where you intend to use it.

Slack is high risk. Widget chats with action approval enabled ask the visitor to confirm before a Slack tool call proceeds. Sending a message is intentionally not automatically retried, which avoids duplicate notifications but means a failed run requires investigation and a new attempt. Check the action log and Slack connection state rather than assuming a message was delivered.
