Configure general settings
Set an agent’s primary model, instructions, public widget availability, avatar, allowed domains, and deletion state.
Open Settings → General to configure the agent's saved identity and customer-facing defaults. Reading the page needs agent-view access. Changing a setting needs agent-edit access. The controls on this page save in different ways. Before you leave the page, confirm which action you used.
Save the main configuration
The Save Changes button saves Agent Name, Model, System Instruction, Public, and Allowed Domains together. When an agent has no saved model, the model defaults to GPT-5.2. When no value is saved, the General form shows Public as enabled. If you create a new dashboard agent, save the page to keep the Public value for the external widget. The System Instruction sets the role and behavior of the agent. To change facts, use Sources.
When Public is disabled, the external embed widget does not render. Authenticated dashboard and API paths stay enabled. Under Allowed Domains, enter one hostname per line to restrict external embedding. To allow all domains, leave the field blank. A listed domain also covers its subdomains. For example, a listed entry for example.com also allows subdomains of example.com.
Manage the avatar
Avatar upload and removal happen immediately. They do not depend on Save Changes. Upload an image file under 4 MB. The recommended size is a square image of at least 200 by 200 pixels.
Schedule deletion safely
Only administrators can access the Danger Zone. To delete an agent, enter its exact name. The system schedules the deletion for 30 days later, not at once. An administrator can cancel the pending deletion during this 30-day window. Before you schedule deletion to hide an experiment, check its active channels and source ownership.
For opening behavior, see Chat settings. For public access controls, see Security.
