Edit an article
Write, save, publish, and resolve edit conflicts in a Help Center article.
You can change the title, slug, description, collection, position, and Markdown body content in the article editor. The editor also supports image uploads and an AI co-writer panel. You can save a draft while you work. Publishing is a separate action, because it changes the public knowledge base. You need Help Center write access to edit an article. You need the publish permission to publish it.
The article editor tracks the version of the article, to detect conflicts between changes made at the same time. If another user saves the article first, the dashboard shows a conflict. It does not overwrite that user's changes without warning. Before you apply your own changes, reload the page and compare the latest content. Do not treat an old, open editor tab as your only source of truth.
AI co-writer suggestions are writing assistance, not verified facts. Before you save, review every generated title, answer, and link against your product's behavior. Keep sensitive internal context out of article prompts. Use alt text and a clear structure for uploaded images. Before you link customers to the article, preview it as a visitor.
