Edit an article
Write, save, publish, and resolve edit conflicts in a Help Center article.
The article editor lets you change title, slug, description, collection, position, and Markdown-based body content. It supports article-image uploads and an AI co-writer panel. Save a draft while you work; publishing is a separate action because it changes the public knowledge base. An editor needs Help Center write access, while publishing uses the publish permission.
The editor tracks the article version to protect concurrent changes. If another editor saves first, the dashboard surfaces a conflict rather than silently overwriting their work. Reload and compare the latest content before applying your own changes. Do not use an editor tab that has been open for a long time as the sole source of truth.
AI co-writer suggestions are writing assistance, not verified facts. Review every generated title, answer, and link against your product behavior before saving. Keep sensitive internal context out of article prompts, use alt text and readable structure for uploaded images, and preview the published article as a visitor before linking customers to it.
