Manage billing and credits
Choose a plan, understand per-message credit costs, top up, and avoid service interruptions.
AgentStack bills AI work in credits. One credit costs $0.02. A $20 top-up adds 1,000 credits. New Free workspaces start with 50 credits.
A credit amount can be fractional. Some work costs less than one credit, so the balance and each history row can show a decimal value, for example 78.25 credits. Per-message model costs stay whole numbers. A voice call bills by the minute, and a voice model combination can bill a fraction of a credit for each minute. See Configure voice calls for the rates.
Understand usage
Each successful AI response deducts the cost set for the selected model. Costs vary by model. For example, GPT-5.2 uses 2 credits, GPT-4.1 Nano uses 1 credit, and Claude Opus 4.6 uses 5 credits. Model costs can change. The model picker and billing screen show the current cost for each model.
AgentStack also deducts credits for AI replies across the widget, REST chat, Slack, email, Inbox assistance, and voice. When AgentStack cannot deliver a response, it can refund the failed request.
Pay for website crawls
Website crawls spend credits. One page costs 0.25 credits, so 4 pages cost 1 credit. AgentStack counts the pages that the crawl collected and charges after the crawl stops. A crawl that collects no pages costs nothing.
Three operations spend these credits: the first crawl of a website source, a manual retrain, and each auto-retrain run. Single pages, files, Q&A pairs, and Notion sources do not spend credits.
The Free and Sandbox plans do not pay for crawls.
Before a crawl starts, AgentStack compares the balance against the Max Pages value. This is the largest amount the crawl can cost. If the balance is lower than that amount, the crawl does not start and the source shows the reason. Keep enough credits for the page limit you select, not for the pages you expect.
Credit History records this spend as a source crawl channel, with a line such as "Website crawl (auto-retrain) — 312 pages (78 credits)". Use it to read training spend apart from conversation spend.
Upgrade or manage a subscription
Open workspace Pricing to compare plans and start checkout. Paid plans unlock REST API access. Inbox is available on the Standard, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Use Manage subscription for invoices, payment methods, or cancellation.
Add credits
Open the billing area. Choose a top-up. Complete the payment. After Stripe confirms the payment, the balance updates.
A top-up sells packs of 1,000 credits at $20 for each pack. You can buy from 1 to 100 packs in one purchase. Only an organization owner can start the purchase.
A discount changes the price. It never changes the credits. If you apply a promotion code to a top-up, you pay less and you still receive every credit in the packs you chose. The same rule applies to a plan: an invoice that is settled in full grants the whole monthly allowance, whatever part of it a discount covered. Only an invoice with an amount still outstanding grants credits in proportion to the money that arrived.
Enable auto top-up. If the balance falls below your chosen threshold, auto top-up adds credits. Keep a valid payment method on file. Choose a threshold that is high enough for your normal traffic.
Credit warning emails
AgentStack sends credit warnings by email to every owner and admin in the workspace. You do not configure them.
Two different warnings exist. They measure two different numbers, and only one of them arrives for a given message.
- Usage warning. This warning measures what you have spent of the plan allowance this period. It sends once at 80% and once at 90%. Each threshold sends one time per period.
- Low-balance warning. This warning measures what is left. On a plan allowance, it sends when the balance falls to a fifth of the allowance or to 100 credits, whichever is lower. On the Free plan the allowance is 50 credits, so the warning sends at 10 credits. A workspace that holds credits it bought gets the warning at 100 credits.
A top-up raises the balance but does not lower the spend for the period. For this reason a top-up clears the low-balance warning but not the usage warning.
Auto top-up changes what you receive. A workspace with auto top-up on gets no warning of either type. It gets a receipt by email each time an auto top-up charge succeeds.
The usage warning names the day your allowance resets. It names no day on the Free plan, which never refreshes, and no day on a yearly plan, because a yearly plan grants credits monthly.
Voice calls spend credits and count toward both warnings.
Avoid interruptions
- After you change to a higher-cost model, watch the workspace balance.
- Before a launch or campaign, test auto top-up.
- Remember that usage is organization-wide across agents and channels.
- If a paid feature is unavailable, confirm both the plan tier and the subscription status.
